DEAR ADAM

He knows her secrets. She doesn’t know he exists.

Ava Sinclair knows how to put on a perfect performance. Behind her fragile veneer of confidence is a woman haunted by the past—a small-town scandal, and a face she no longer recognizes in the mirror. Success might give her a second chance. But redemption? That’s harder to earn.

Her big break comes with a revolutionary AI project she’s been hired to launch… tech that could change lives. But the software isn’t ready. And neither is the man who built it.

Aidan Wolfe never meant to get involved. Hiding behind firewalls and anonymity suits him just fine—until Ava logs in. To preserve the deal, he pretends to be the AI she believes in, just long enough to buy time to fix it.

But what starts as a lie becomes something neither of them expected.

And secrets never stay buried.

When the truth surfaces, it won’t just threaten their reputations—it could wreck the fragile connection they never meant to build.

Dear Adam is a literary, high-stakes love story about the masks we wear, the shame we carry, and the rare courage it takes to be truly seen.

CHARACTERS

Ava Sinclair

Ava Sinclair knows how to be stoic. It’s how you survive when your world burns down and everyone walks away. Once a rising star in her hometown, she built her future on beauty, brilliance, and a lie she’s still telling herself: that she’s okay. She doesn’t flinch in boardrooms or break under pressure. But vulnerability terrifies her. Shame is a scar she hides beneath ambition and guilt is a debt she pays in silence. And as for trust? That’s something she gave once and can't afford to give again. But behind the walls she’s built, there’s still a woman who believes she could be more than the sum of her mistakes. She wants redemption, even if she can’t name it. She wants to be seen—truly seen—and loved anyway. Ava doesn’t ask to be rescued. But deep down, she longs for someone who will stay. Favorite Book: Never Let Me Go Personal Motto: “Take three deep breaths. Then act.” Favorite Food: Cheesecake—because that’s what indulgence looks like.

Aidan Wolfe

Aidan Wolfe has spent his life in the background. Observing, coding… hiding. He's the man behind the screen, pulling strings and writing scripts, too afraid of what might happen if anyone saw the real him. Brilliant but guarded, he built firewalls around his heart long before he built them into software. Empathy is his native language, but he speaks it quietly, through actions, not declarations. He doesn’t ask for trust, but earns it in fragments, one selfless act at a time. Most people never notice. That’s the point. He was never supposed to be the face of anything. Let alone a lie. But guilt doesn’t delete cleanly. And grief isn’t a problem you can code your way out of. The closer he gets to connection, the more dangerous the truth becomes. Because the biggest lie Aidan ever told wasn’t to the world. It was to her. He didn’t mean to fall in love. But once he started, he didn’t know how to stop. Favorite Film: Good Will Hunting Personal Motto: “Code can’t lie. That’s the point.” Favorite Food: Waffles with a double espresso on the side.

About Serenity Bea

Serenity Bea writes emotionally charged, psychologically rich stories that explore the quiet complexities of human connection. Her characters are flawed and painfully real, often grappling with identity, morality, and the invisible forces that shape their lives.

Serenity’s writing is intended to spark conversations, question assumptions and to provide the reader with the opportunity for meaningful reflection that can shift perspectives.

Her debut novel Aftermath made the Top 15 in the 2025 international New2theScene writing competition, marking her as a fresh voice to watch in literary fiction. Her work blends immersive storytelling with thoughtful social commentary, creating narratives that not only resonate, but challenge.

Drawing on her degree in Applied Psychology, she brings sharp, compassionate insight to her writing—unearthing the hidden fears, longings, and misbeliefs that drive her characters’ decisions.

When she’s not torturing fictional characters in emotionally complex ways, she’s likely listening to Hans Zimmer and sipping a margarita.

She has incurable insomnia, a cat who thinks he's her co-writer, and a dog who's convinced he should be.
